La retour

July 10th, 2009

Bonjour tout le monde!

It seems I have neglected my blog for a while. I have neglected a few things actually. Nonetheless, I am back.
Things have been fairly tricky, but things are evening out, I’m getting back on track, and even shooting a little again.
Regards the shooting, I feel that I’ve lost a lot of the confidence I had behind the camera, but there is only one way to resolve that; go and shoot some more.

I’ve also just had a wonderful experience with Spectrum Imaging in Newcastle (http://spectrumimaging.co.uk/), who do mail-order film development. 5 rolls of 120, developed and scanned, all for the princely sum of around £33, including postage. The turnaround was incredible too, posted the film to them on Tuesday afternoon, negatives and discs arrived Thursday morning through my door. Carefully packed, no scratches or dust on the negatives. The scans themselves are very reasonable, returning jpgs at 1024px by the relative aspect depending on the film. Here’s a couple of examples:

If anybody in the UK is looking for an inexpensive, professional and competent lab, then I recommend them 100%.

Cheerioh,
Tom

I really miss this girl. Without her I feel lonely.

This is where I live., originally uploaded by Tom Swanborough-Nilson.

This was my cabin. I used to live here.

I miss it like sin. It was my refuge. I had it and I left it.

In My Room

Today I felt really positive.
Maybe it was something to do with the golden light that filtered through my window for a few minutes this morning.
The photograph doesn’t do it justice.
